The Threepenny Opera
A Classic written by Bertolt Brecht and composed by Kurt Weill in 1928, and was later translated Elisabeth Hauptmann and adapted in the 18th century to what we now know as The Threepenny Opera.
This was my first production as an assistant director, although it was a very different style of theatre compared to what I had worked on previously as a performer, I definitely felt like I rose to the challenge and it turned out to be an amazing experience. I blocked 2 scenes in the show and took notes throughout the whole process while watching the director block the rest of the production. This gave me the experience of being a director but it also allowed me to have time to process the materials and tasks given to me.
Audition Preparation workshop
So far I have run 1 audition prep workshop, but this was something i really put a lot of effort and pride into. I discussed techniques used as an actor and how to apply them while preparing for an audition. I also spoke about personal experience and what has and hasn't worked for me. We then took all the information spoken about and applied it to the groups chosen songs, to see if they can spot anything they may have done a bit better to how they would have performed it before attending my workshop.
